What we collect

SpicySalvation is a small cooking site. We keep data collection minimal.

  • Email addresses you voluntarily submit through the newsletter signup (stored so we can send the welcome note and later recipes) or through the contact / suggest-a-recipe forms (delivered to Steve’s inbox, not added to the mailer).
  • Comments and ratings you post on recipe pages (name + comment text, plus a hashed version of your IP used only for rate-limiting).
  • Basic server logs that any web host keeps (IP address, user-agent, requested URL, timestamp). These are standard and used for security and debugging.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent, or share your email with third parties for marketing.
  • We do not run advertising networks or tracking pixels for ad networks.
  • Recipe Box saves are stored only in your browser (localStorage). They never leave your device and are not sent to our servers.

Third-party services

  • YouTube — embedded videos. Google’s privacy policy applies to those embeds.
  • Hosting — the site is hosted on a standard shared host that maintains normal server logs.

Cookies

We do not set first-party tracking cookies. Your browser may store localStorage data for the Recipe Box feature; that data stays on your device.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in the welcome email, or by contacting us. You can clear Recipe Box data by clearing your browser’s local storage for this site. To request deletion of a comment you posted, use the contact form and include enough detail for us to find it.
